Excelsior Women's Rugby is in its inaugural year, marking an exciting step forward for the growth of the women's game in North Otago. As part of the Excelsior Rugby Club, the team provides a strong sense of belonging, connection, and pride, bringing women's rugby into an established club environment. 

The team competes in the South Canterbury competition, with games played on Friday nights, and is committed to create a welcoming and competitive space for players of all backgrounds and experience levels, with a focus on skill development, teamwork, and a positive, inclusive culture both on and off the field. With a mix of experienced players and emerging talents, Excelsior offers opportunities for those looking to compete, improve, and be part of a supportive rugby community. 

Excelsior Women's also plays an important role in the local player pathway, supporting athletes to progress into higher honours, including North Otago Rugby representative teams and the Otago Spirit. The team is proud to contribute to the continued development and visibility of women's rugby in the region.
