HEARTLAND RUGBY

North Otago’s senior provincial rugby team proudly competes in the National Bunnings Heartland Championship, the flagship competition for our region’s top players.

This team represents the pinnacle of rugby in North Otago, showcasing the talent, passion, and commitment of our players on the national stage.

Our North Otago Heartland team continues to inspire the next generation of rugby players, showcasing the high standards of excellence that define our rugby community.

The North Otago Heartland team has a rich history of success, with numerous championship titles and prestigious victories to their name:

  • Former NPC 3rd Division Champions – 2002

  • Meads Cup Champions – 2007, 2010, 2019 (multiple-time champions)

  • Lochore Cup Champions – 2009, 2016, 2025

These victories reflect the strength and determination of our team, built on years of hard work, teamwork, and community support.

The Heartland Championship provides a platform for the best talent in the region to develop, compete, and represent North Otago with pride.
